Fantastic, thanks Daniel!

Dear all,
the OA signalling project's main page at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Open_Access/Signalling_O... is a bit dated now - its most recent summary is in the report at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Open_Access/Signalling_O... .
Further progress depends a lot on third-party activities (especially Wikidata, but also PubMed Central), and we try to move forward as much as circumstances allow.
In the meantime, we are working on improving citation and analytics infrastructure more generally, e.g. as per
https://wikimania2015.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/Usage_of_Digital_Object... and
https://wikimania2015.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/The_Pleasures_and_Pains... .
Apart from WMF's upcoming OA policy (as per
https://wikimania2015.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/Wikimedians_share;_Rese... ), the Public Access policies of several U.S. Federal Agencies are also likely to affect the OA Signalling project - both NASA and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) have opted to work with NIH's PubMed Central:
http://www.sparc.arl.org/blog/second-us-federal-agency-releases-public-acces...
http://sparc.arl.org/blog/nasa-public-access-plan-available-uses-nihs-pmc-pl...
This also means that they will be using JATS, the XML format in use at PMC, and the basis for our full-text imports into Wikisource, as per https://github.com/wpoa/JATS-to-Mediawiki . Along with the Open Access Media Importer (which now stands at about 19k files), this tool has discovered many issues with JATS that are now being worked on in the framework of the JATS for Reuse working group at http://jats4r.github.io/ , which will present its activities at the upcoming JATS Con (which prevents me from attending the Norway event), as per http://jats.nlm.nih.gov/jats-con/2015/schedule2015a.html#1-215 . We will also have a talk on data citation there: http://jats.nlm.nih.gov/jats-con/2015/schedule2015a.html#2-900 .
Finally, it's probably worth mentioning WikiProject Wikidata for research at https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Wikidata_for_research , which has produced a publicly drafted and openly licensed proposal for the EU's Horizon 2020 program at
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_Wikidata_for_research/EIN... and resulted in a number of meetups, e.g.
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_Wikidata_for_research/Mee... and
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_Wikidata_for_research/Mee... last week. Access to the scholarly literature is a key component there, and we plan to enhance it using Wikidata.
Cheers, d.

Hi,
I'll be talking at the Norwegian Wikipedia Academy (23-24 April) about
open
access as well, so I'd also be interested to hear about any new
Wikimedia/OA
developments that I might not be aware of yet.
Thanks, Stuart

Early, next week. I have something like 10 minutes, but I will be hanging around and speak to people for few days: I want to mention them the WikiProject OA, of course, and the
"Signalling
OA-ness" project.

Are there any updates?

Hello everyone, I'm gonna participate in a two-days conference in Italy about Open Access, and I would like to know from you if there are any updates/projects going on that you would like to be mentioned. The scope is OA and the
Wikimedia
world, of course. Every link and reference will be very appreciated :-)
Thanks!
