Dear Lilith, Raluca, and anyone else who wishes to be "deleted":
You can unsubscribe *yourself*. You do *not* need to email everyone.
Short version: Click the link at the bottom of this email and follow the prompts.
Detailed version: 1. Click the link in the footer of every email (this: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/open-glam ) 2. scroll down to the 'change my settings or unsubscribe'. 3. Insert the email address you are subscribed with, then click the button. 4. On that page is a button that says "unsubscribe". Click it. 5. You will receive an email requesting confirmation, click the link. 6. Once complete you will receive a final email confirming that you have been successfully unsubscribed.
These instructions also work for most other mailing lists you are on.

Greetings everyone,
I usually don't reply to these emails for the lack of success from previous encounters. However, there is a more promising method: All of the mailing lists running "mailman" leave a URL in the header of their emails containing the address for subscription or unsubscription. In this case:
List-Unsubscribe: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/options/open-glam, mailto:open-glam-request@lists.wikimedia.org?subject=unsubscribe
Opening up the URL allows anyone to enter an email address and click on "unsubscribe". The next thing the user is going to receive is an email asking for confirmation to unsubscribe.
This way the user will usually unsubscribe without any further 1:n-Communication over the mailing list. The only downside is that there is no learning effect for anyone. Which is not worse than the current situation.
Mathias
(I "unsubscribed" Raluca and Lilith. All they need to do is click on the link in their inbox).
