Dear all, Are you aware of any forthcoming hackathon in the cultural heritage field? I had an idea for a challenge (on climate change and role of cultural heritage institutions- it is related to social participation and openness) and I'm looking for a suitable hackathon taking place online. Feel free to reply anytime a hackathon comes up Thanks, Katerina

Dear Katerina
We organized a datathon last week in the Spanish National Research Council and there were 2 different challenges for semantic enrichments to be done on a selection of Humanities, and Agriculture data collections. The third challenge invited participants to label a multidisciplinary collection of research outputs with SDGs taxonomy. The portal of the event is https://digital.csic.es/sites/datathon_2022/index.html.
Kind regards
Isabel

Dear Katerina,
we are in the middle of our 3D-Hackathon - Creating New Dimensions, dealing with cultural heritage datasets. It is a joint venture by NFDI4Culture and NFDI4Biodiversity. I am not sure, if that is, what you had in mind. But feel free to have a look and contact our organization team if interested via https://creating-new-dimensions.org/kontakt/ Or via Discord https://discord.gg/bW4GSBd7Jm or via Hackdash https://hackdash.org/dashboards/cnewd
For further information (i.e. on the available datasets) please visit https://creating-new-dimensions.org.
All the best, Katja

Dear Katerina,
Have you come across *Devpost* https://devpost.com ? The platform powers hackathons and app contests around the world — whether you wish to host your own hackathon, or participate in one.
While it has been a few years since I’ve actively joined their many offerings, a browse through the platform’s current listing shows the following ongoing virtual/international hackathon:
*Title: *Google Maps Platform Hackathon
*Host:* Google Inc.
*URL:* https://googlemapsplatform.devpost.com/?ref_feature=challenge&ref_medium...
*Challenge: *Build or expand an existing app to incorporate rich location experiences using the latest APIs and push the boundaries of what is possible with our platform.
*Deadline:* Deadline: Nov 14, 2022
With Google Arts and Culture covering topics on Cultural Heritage + Climate Change (as featured in their sites noted below), might this hackathon be of interest or complementary to your goals? Thought it was worth sharing for any ideas this may inspire.

*World Heritage and Climate Action*

Dear Katerina,
I work for meemoo the flemish center for archive and am involved in the Collections of Ghent project, which is an open data project with a social dimension to it. The open collections of 5 Ghent heritage institutions are not only made available but useable and used with the object of increasing social cohesion.
In order to test the digital infrastructure developed during the project, we are organising a hackathon on sat 15/10. More info here: https://www.collectie.gent/kalender/hackathon https://www.collectie.gent/kalender/hackathon
