Good stuff, overall. :-)
Re: slide 30 - "Do analysis on all the uses of the star icon (watch list) and bookmark icon in a systematic way, considering all the uses of each" There was a brief mention of this in May Galloway's Wikimania2014 presentation https://wikimania2014.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/User_interface:_Consistency,_consistency,_consistency%21. See this slide: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1VYGOLDKQ4Sntv9UgkH34KUk_FyjAaUvc1eio... I think there was also a related page on mw.o but I can't find it. I would strongly caution against using the 5 pointed star icon for yet another meaning (especially as it is so prominently used in both Chrome/Firefox interfaces as a plain browser-bookmark, and prominently within wikis as the add-to-watchlist link.) The "downward arrow (towards a horizontal line, or from a cloud)" seem to be somewhat common alternative: https://www.google.ca/search?q=offline+save+icon&tbm=isch - I'd recommend the former.
Re: slide 42 - "Currently the Android" [the sentence cuts off there].

Hi Everybody!
Here https://docs.google.com/a/wikimedia.org/presentation/d/15S6T_nZFatNp7tF3Hq9t6D6pD57peNlLskYZq-Js1IE/edit?usp=sharing is the report for this study, where we tested three (online to offline) ideas with a set of users we could reach from here in SF.
Please check it out, and respond here with any questions, thoughts, interesting info that could inform our thinking further, etc. A few things to note:
- The feedback in this report has already been incorporated into the
prototypes, where needed for our next round of research. (Thanks reading web team!)
- We will continue the testing in India because it is MUCH easier to
reach our target users there.
- We will build on the set of learnings in this report with the
outcomes of the research in India.
- The recruit for research in India is starting now, and testing will
begin within a week or so.
- We will upload this to commons and can post it in the next update
More to follow!
