Hi guys,
Just a reminder (or FYI, for those of you recently joining us) of our upcoming meeting dates. All times are 1500 UTC.
* 5 November * 19 November * 3 December * 17 December * 7 January * 21 January
I'm not going to set up Doodles for these—if you have a problem with any of the dates/times, just shoot me a note.
Additionally, Jon, Arne, I, and anyone who wants to turn up will be meeting the weekend of 29/30 January in Frankfurt. The current plan is to have at least one remote session (IRC or concall, yet to be determined), with one for sure at 1500 UTC on the 30th. Please let me know if you'll be there in person or attending remotely.
Cheers,
Austin

I've blocked the date and will be there in person.
Alice.
Hi all,
thanks for the note, Austin. On the Frankfurt meeting, would it be possible to do a Doodle to see which weekend in January would work best for the largest number of us before we finalize on the date. This is not to say that it is a bad date for me, but it would be great to see what options we have as a group.
Best, Barry

Hello everyone,
Thanks for Austin's reminder. I am ok with these dates, and i already mark it in my calendar. For the date of the meeting in Frankfurt, I am not sure yet, but it would be great if it can be shown on doodle.

Hey Barry, all,
We arrived at that date fairly informally during an in-person discussion among Arne, Bishakha, Samuel, Jon, and myself. That's not to imply that we had any sort of formal quorum, and I can see how announcing it without discussion with the other members would come off a bit brusque.
This said, so far that weekend seems to work for everyone who's replied. The first three weekends don't work for a variety of reasons—some of us could make the weekend before (22/23 January), although there might be some conflicts with the ten-year celebrations.
Perhaps it would be best to simply ask if anyone has a problem with that weekend, and look into another date only if so?

I'm ok with that week-end, I'd have problems with others week-ends in January, except indeed the 22/23.

_that_ week-end being the 30th of January, in case that wasn't clear.

OK then, I'll make plans to be in Frankfurt on the weekend of Jan 29/30 as well. I hope that we can get a good quorum of participants for a productive session. I cannot make Jan 22/23 as I'm on vacation in Southeast Asia with my in-laws.

Hi all,
I'm okay with all the dates including Frankfurt - except November 3, when I shall be in Nepal.
I will try to connect to the India call-in number from my cell, but since I could not connect to that number from my cell last time when I was in Mumbai (only from my land line in the past), I'm not sure this will work. (Bence: I tried via g talk too last time but it said the facility is not available outside the US + given poor net connects in Nepal, I am sceptical.)
Jon/Austin: In case I cannot connect, would it be possible for me to catch up via a quick skype chat with either of you the following week? Am feeling a bit out of the loop, specially since I got completely sidetracked with organizing a public lecture last week while Jimmy was here in Mumbai.
Cheers Bishakha

While it's not yet decided, currently we're leaning toward an IRC session (or sessions) rather than a traditional conference call. Is this is a better option for you? If there is a call, I can also try to have the operator connect you manually.
Regardless, I'm happy to talk to you (or anyone else) via Skype or IM and try to fill in any gaps—feel free to reach out to me anytime you see me online, or e-mail me and we can set up a time to talk.

For me, IRC is a better option too. Honestly, it is easier for me to follow all the information, as my English is not very good at all. Then, i can go through it deeply instead of instant thinking. I checked the my school calendar, i am also ok for the date of Frankfurt Meeting. If the date is confirmed, please let me know, then i can ask for the leave. Thank you very much. :-D
