I assume good faith on Goma's part, and hope you all will as well.
He is coming to Berlin for the Movement Roles meeting, because we invited him. He is leaving on Friday as he was not invited to stay for the Chapters meeting.*
He is one of the driving forces behind major projects on the Catalan Wikipedia, and has been for many years, since long before the question of a Catalan chapter became a big issue. To tar Goma with the brush of someone 'trying to get his case heard' is just as inappropriate as suggesting that Delphine and Arne are pat of some Foundation conspiracy.
He lives and breathes Wikipedia, as do most of the Amical Board -- something many of us can related to. And he spends far more of his time on national and cultural projects (like the event supporting small languaegs that ca:wp held in honor of their 10th anniversary, and their GLAM event that happened yesterday in Barcelona) than he does on these meta-wikimedia dramas.
I have met with him twice, and been offended by him more than once online, but I have been deeply impressed with the quality of work that his group does, and the sense of camraderie and collaboration that drive them. If we cannot find ways to work with them with respect and without snide commentary, we are failing our movement.
SJ
* NB: On behalf of the Foundation, I regret that no one representing Amical will be in attendance this weekend. The Board politely and unofficially asked the Wikimedia Conference organizers to invite a representative from Amical, after discussing this at our last IRC meeting, as their work lines up with many topics on the agenda.

At the chapters meeting and at various meetings at Wikimania; he has a thing about dropping in anywhere he thinks his case can be heard, whether he's invited or not.
