CC'ing mobile-l@ to keep them in the loop
Things are progressing nicely on the login feature. Patrick tells me that were looking good to finalize the functionality for a beta launch this Thursday. We've completed the majority of the ops and development work to allow posts, caching (disabled for logged in), etc for logins.
Were also making good progress on getting the wildcard subdomain certs. CT has been working tirelessly to get an SSL vendor that will grant us a *. m.wikipedia.org and a *.wikipedia.org cert. He's close in getting one vendor to agree to it and were eager to get certs for testing.
I'd like to push logins regardless of wether we have certs or not to the beta so that we can start testing. We'll want the certs in place before we take logins into production of course.
Exciting times ahead.

The great mystery shall be answered tomorrow when I talk with the ops teams. For now lets say we'll just use a seperate account so that the software work isn't blocked.

Let us know how it works.
Is user login going to force use of SSL, or is SSL for mobile still delayed?
