@Rehman: The Commons Android app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.free.nrw.commons has a somewhat similar "Nearby Places" features that displays a list of nearby locations lacking photos. It's a new feature and needs quite a bit of improvement (including switching to a different API, as our initial choice of API turned out to have a few drawbacks), but it might be worth looking into.
