Why is this?
I can imagine situations where an audio file is of /more/ use or interest on mobile devices (a bird song while in the field, for instance).

Audio and video support is not something the mobile team has tackled yet (multimedia does require a nontrivial bit of engineering), but it's definitely something that's been discussed, and it will probably be developed not too far down the road. Stay tuned :)
