Is there a HOWTO for taking the WikipediaMobile app and using it to
create an app for your own MediaWiki site?
I've skimmed the source and found a handful of places that URLs that
would need to be changed at a minimum.
I just skimmed the diffs for Thomas' new Wikisource app and think that
the changes made would be a good place to start this HOWTO.
What do you guys think?

I've created with Yuvipanda's help a version of cordova based app for Wikisource: https://github.com/Tpt/WikisourceMobile
This app is working pretty fine but there are some steps that have to be done:
- Create an app logo
- l10n on Translatewiki
I need help in order to make this two steps. May someone help me ?
Is it possible that Wikimedia staff takes time in order to help me make this app ready for publication ?

Wikimedia Mobile is sometimes useful when the person who raises the bug
doesn't know where to put it. Extensions/mobilefrontend is very hidden
away. I'd be keen to address this problem in the process.
Also as arthur points out sometimes it's blurry when a bug is project
specific and a configuration change...

Hi, since some months i am wondering why wikipedia does not present itself
with the mobile skin any more in the standard android 3.4 browser? Is there
a special trick or link one could use to switch this on again?
Rupert.
Hi,
Is the Wikipedia app supposed to work on Archos 70b internet tablet

Hey,
Today we (editor engagement experiments team) started an A/B test of a
new account registration page on English Wikipedia.
I wanted to bring this up on mobile because, because while it doesn't
impact users visiting via MobileFrontend, the design does play niceer
with mobile browsers, at least compared to the current default. (See
the attached screenshots of mobile Safari on iPhone and iPad. I also
tested on Jelly Bean.)
When we move to productize this, we should talk more about
implementing the design in a way that jives with what the mobile team
is working on.

I've pushed an update to the Windows Store for our Windows 8 Wikipedia app,
with some improvements that went in over the past weeks. This version is
built against the final release-to-manufacturing Windows 8 libraries, and
probably won't run on the Release Preview that came out this summer.
It's passed through review and the publishing channel, but it may still
take a couple hours to show up in search.
This is tagged as win8-release5 in the git repository. Improvements include:
Win8 system integration:
* type-to-search, like on the start screen!
* can now "share" text from other applications like IE *to* Wikipedia to do
a quick lookup
* fix for search activation
* fix for pinned tile activation
General:
* in-article "find" feature (may or may not be able to use this code on
other platforms, it's currently dependent on IE's TextRange)
* RTL article view fixes
* lots of UI consistency adjustments
Store fixes:
* added to all current markets
For those who are interested in hacking on the Win8 app themselves, there
are now instructions on how to set up a build environment and get started:

Hi all,
the pre-jury Committee of Wiki Loves Monuments Italia told me that the
WLM Android app added the images in a new (spurious) category "Wiki
Loves Monuments Italia 2012 needing check"[1], they fixed it by hand
moving the images to the right cat (I don't know if there is
some other cat like "Pictures uploaded with the WLM app"). Anyways, I
don't know where that category came from, it was the name I initially
used for images uploaded with UploadWizard, but was soon changed to
follow the conventions of the contest.
So, now the category is empty, can we delete it?
Furthermore, the ID of the images uploaded with the app had the first
digit (always a zero) stripped away.
Can somebody help me to fix this problems?
Cristian
