Apologies for cross-posting
Greetings,
I'm happy to announce that the program for the Enterprise MediaWiki
Conference Spring 2017 is now available on the conference page. [0]
The program covers all three days of the event, including our very special
list of presenters and social activities.
Registration is still open, so please register if you have not already. [1]
Ideas for short lightning talks are welcome for the Create Camp on the
third day.
We hope you can make it, and look forward to seeing you next week. For
folks who can't make it in person, live streaming will be available for
many of our sessions. Check the conference page in the near future for more
information.

Subject: [Wikitech-l] Proposal: Make $wgRawHTML not apply to system messages
To: wikitech-l <wikitech-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Most of the time we assume that writing code like:
wfMessage( 'foo' )->params( $this->getRequest()->getVal( 'bar' ) )->parse();
is totally safe. However, in a wiki with $wgRawHTML = true; this code
would be an XSS. I've looked through core, and couldn't find any
examples of using unsanitized url parameters as a message parameter in
a parsed message, however it seems to me like this sort of thing is an
accident waiting to happen.
I would like to propose that $wgRawHTML only apply to actual pages.
The <html> parser tag should not be active in wfMessage() or other
parser contexts. I don't think this would break anything, but I'd like
feedback on if anyone could think of anything this could break.
For more information see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T156184 .
Please post any feedback about this idea on that bug.

Hello again,
With the new year in full swing we're already seeing some interesting submissions for the Enterprise MediaWiki conference, but we're missing yours!
This is a gentle post-holiday reminder to please submit proposals and register for the event. I don't want to bore you with the details, but it would be really helpful to us organizers if we saw more names on the wiki to help with planning!

The Enterprise MediaWiki Conference Spring 2017, or EMWCon Spring 2017,
will be held Wednesday to Friday, March 8-10, 2017, in McLean, VA, USA,
a suburb of Washington, DC. EMWCon Spring 2017 will be a three-day
conference featuring discussions of topics related to "Enterprise
MediaWiki", i.e. the usage of MediaWiki software by and within
companies, non-profits, governments, and other organizations. There will
be two days of talks followed by a one day Create Camp. The intended
audience of EMWCon Spring 2017 is anyone who uses, or would like to
learn more about, MediaWiki within organizations. Suggested topics for
talks include:
- Examples of use of MediaWiki in organizations
- Lessons learned and challenges in the use of MediaWiki and MediaWiki
extensions in organizations
- Gamification and other incentives for wiki contributions
- Wikitext patterns and wiki design patterns
- Wiki development frameworks
- MediaWiki extension usage and development
- New extensions, extension updates, and ideas for future extensions
This is the second EMWCon, after EMWCon Spring 2016 last year. EMWCon
began as a spinoff of the Semantic MediaWiki Conference, or SMWCon,
which is an annual conference, held in the fall in Europe. EMWCon and
SMWCon are not that different from one another: they are both three-day
events, and, despite EMWCon's broader scope, the overall topics of
discussion tend to be similar.
For more information about the conference, please visit the conference
wiki page at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/EMWCon_Spring_2017.
EMWCon Spring 2017 will be located at MITRE, a not-for-profit
organization that manages Federally Funded Research and Development
Centers (FFRDCs) sponsored by the US federal government.

Hi,
I have several - private - wiki's that are used by one group of users. All wiki's are on MW 1.27.1. What I would like is:
- Same users and passwords for all wiki's
- Single sign on
- API requests from one wiki to another
I'm getting lost in OAuth, CentralAuth, API:Login and I would like some advice on what to do.
Can anyone put me on the right track?
Thanks!
