Do you think there would be a way to implement something where the
contributor could select his dialect of a language within his preferences
or at the time of writing an article so we could make indexation of
articles by dialect somewhat automatic ?

I'd like if interested people could meet sometime soon to discuss the
direction Wikimedia Indigenous Languages should take and what should be its
roles from all your points of view. It will also be useful to share
on-going and planned projects that are in place in your regions or that you
are involved with.

Good day,
I send you this e-mail to let you know of the creation of Wikimedia
Indigenous Languages (WIL), an international body for the coordination of
projects for the development of Wikimedia projects in small and endangered
languages. The organization is still it its early stage of creation and
didn't even had its first meeting yet, but had gathered around 20
interested people from different countries already. The reason of this
e-mail is to engage the discussion with the Affiliation Committee in this
early stage. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, don't
hesitate to come on the newly created languages-l (
languages(a)lists.wikimedia.org) to ask us.
