Hello Indic Wikisource proofreaders,
We are very happy to announce that the Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon II
2020 [1] is starting from tomorrow and will continue up to 15 November.
As this year, we are facing devastating effects of COVID-19, we urge you
to stay inside your home to avoid exposure to the deadly virus.
We are also expecting higher participation than previous contest We
heartily welcome new Wikimedians from different parts of the country to
work on restoring our literary heritage to digital era. Just like previous
contest held on May 2020, we again promising to wrap up everything within
the expected timeline after the competition ends and we are going to keep
our promise again. :-)
Welcome you all in the contest.
Regards,
Jayanta Nath

Hello everyone,
We hope you are doing well!
We reached out to you a couple of weeks ago to share that Wikisource
Pagelist Widget <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikisource_Pagelist_Widget>
is now ready to be enabled to Wikisource. Since then, many language
Wikisources have enabled the widget but many are yet to do so.
So, we have decided to organize a Wikisource Meetup to give a live
demonstration on how to use the widget in both wikitext and visual modes.
There will be some time for the participants to share their feedback and
experience with the widget. We will also provide support in case some
Wikisource communities are seeking help in enabling the widget.
The meetup will take place on 29 September 2020 at 9:30 AM UTC or 3 PM IST.
Google Meet link for the meeting is: http://meet.google.com/khu-dfph-qsd
Looking forward to seeing the global Wikisource community connect amid
these difficult times when physical meetings have not been taking place.
P.S. If you are planning to attend this meetup, then send us your
confirmation as a reply to this email, this will help us in getting a sense
of the number of people that are planning to show-up. We are aware that
this time-zone is not convenient for everyone and more meetups can be
organized in the future.

Sohom, Sam and Satdeep
Hello everyone,
I am pleased to announce that Wikisource Pagelist Widget
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikisource_Pagelist_Widget> is now
available on Beta Wikisource. We need your help in testing the widget and
providing feedback.
You can test the widget by editing the following Index page on Beta
Wikisource:
https://en.wikisource.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Index:War_and_Peace.djvu
There is a new ‘Preview pagelist’ button under the pagelist field. Click it
to get a preview, and then click on any page number in the preview to open
the widget.
You can also create a fresh Index Page for any other PDF or DjVu from
Wikimedia Commons and test it.
We need your feedback on the following questions:
-
What is your general opinion about the Pagelist Widget?
-
Is it obvious how to use the widget? If not, what is difficult to
understand?
-
What other changes would you like to suggest in order to improve the
widget further?
Please provide your feedback on the Project Talk Page on Meta-Wiki
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wikisource_Pagelist_Widget>.
P.S. - The widget doesn’t work on Local Uploads in Beta Wikisource as of
now (due to T257807).
Regards,
Sohom Datta.
