I was also able to follow a code sample she gave to me the same day we were working together and still ended at the Captcha issue.(This was strange because from the documentation, the MediaWiki API can be used to create an account with or without captcha) We had a long decision last night and we were wondering why the simple example needed Captcha authentication and she had to post this question here: https://discourse-mediawiki.wmflabs.org/t/how-to-create-an-account-using-th… She also said that the Account Creation Api is actually a complicated example to work on and it is certainly not easy compared to others and promised we were going to work on it together.
