When it comes to design for brochures and booklets (for example) I'd use
Adobe Fireworks to create any graphics or images I'd need. I'd use Acrobat
to be able to work closely with designers, especially during an iterative
design process (such as the ongoing one for our 2012 annual report) rather
than listing everything in long open office documents.

Hmm in principle Cinelerra would be an option but the reviews I've
seen of that would be rather mixed
