I like to try keeping my e-mails down under 200 per day, but am not 
always successful.  Much of the chatter is admittedly unnecessary, but I 
enjoy the humorous diversions; they keep the mood light.  Most of those 
postings are quite short anyway.  The long ones are often the most 
serious ones.
