There's no way to stop people from sending unsubscription requests to
the list. People have always done it and they always will. It's best
if they just get unsubscribed with a minimum of fuss and list noise.

Usually the list moderator should do this, but note that anyone can
cause mailman to send a unsubscription confirmation email. You just
type their email address into the listinfo form, click "unsubscribe or
edit options", then click "unsubscribe".
