[Labs-l] Labs privacy policy questions

Hi Pine,

The publication of the initial round of community consultations for a
revised Labs Terms of Use probably will go out in a couple of weeks (I am
getting it reviewed right now internally). We will of course notify this
mailing list once that happens.

As for the Wikimetrics' privacy practices, I have reviewed them and I
believe the issue is mainly a messaging problem (As you noted earlier, the
privacy disclaimer on that project might be confusing.). We are currently
surveying all WMF projects hosted on Labs since I do not think we have
always aligned our practices consistently across our Labs projects. Once
that is done, we will have a better idea of whether we should create
different messaging or a different privacy policy that will be uniquely
applicable to all WMF created Labs projects. I think it would be better to
have this consistency rather than creating anything just for Wikimetrics
right now. This process might take some time so it is hard for me give an
estimate right now but I hope to have it done by the end of next month.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Zhou
