Hi Florence and all,
I will also not be able to attend, but happy to collaborate in an online format. Thanks for organizing!
Cheers, Savannah

This is great, Florence! Congratulations.
Unfortunately, I won't be present at Wikimania - I also applied for a scholarship without success - but can happily collaborate with folks in an online initiative.
Very best, Michaela

Thank you for the nice news Florance!
I remain interested to contribute in whichever form I can and was even to help with in local onsite organizing with professional connection I have
to
Art+Science Museum in Singapore to maybe do activity there...however
during
my organizing of Queering Wikipedia 2023 days (as I lost control over
flux) I got negative reply to my scholarship and I only saw it very recently.
I am personally disapointed considering the presented 3 themes
(Diversity.
Collaboration. Future.) and the fact that I never attended, have no national or other affiliates in both Croatia and Bosnia&Herzegovina,
that I
was not selected even for partial scholarship waiting list and given any elaboration... that just feels very strange and alienating. I would really look for lists of distribution of participants, their actual diversity, collaboration extent and 2030 engagement.
Anyway hope others got it better and have more options to fund their travel and stay. I will follow up with online participation plan unless something changes. I would encourage others who want to coordinate for online-only access also to get in touch.
Best Z. Blace

Hello friends
It is my honor and my privilege to inform you that our WREN panel at Wikimania has been accepted !
Yooohooo !
https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2023:Program/Submissions/Learn_and_disc...
So to make things move forward, we first need to know who will then actually be attending Wikimania in person. I put nice little boxes for you to directly indicate whether you will be joining the panel, directly on the wiki.
*Please edit the wiki directly* (this will be a nice way to have the usernames collected) by checking your box "yes". Do not forget to
log-in...
Thanks

Thank you for leading on this.
I made small changes on Wiki page, but considering the notice there...
The following is a mirror of what are publicly available details of submission made at the call for proposal platform, Pretalx https://pretalx.com/wm2023/cfp. Any changes here may be overwritten
by
a bot while syncing updates from Pretalx. Changes are monitored and may
be
updated into Pretalx if they do not change the context of the submission (i.e. correcting typographical errors).
...it will be overwritten soon? ;-p

Hi all,
I'm still keen to be involved, but I will be away from Wednesday this week until mid-April and I won't be checking emails. So I probably
can't be
much help around the application process.
Regardless, I'll be at Wikimania, so if there's still a possibility of joining this panel I'll be there and can check in with everyone when I
get
back.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm still uncertain if I will come or not (tbh, it will mainly depend on if I've got a scholarship or not) but if I'm here, I'll be glad to

my experience (like Martin, including the use of Wikidata).

Ok,
This is great that we have so much interest :) - And I hope the
cheese
will come too...
Unless wrong, we currently have amongst the interested
- Florence, WIPO WIR
- Lane Raspberry
- Blace
- Savannah Cragin : CCCC Wikipedia Initiative to engage scholars in
writing studies (i.e. rhetoric, composition, technical communication, literacy, and language studies) to edit Wikipedia as a form of public scholarship.
- James Gaunt : Wikimedia Australia's residencies.
https://wikimedia.org.au/wiki/Wikimedian_In_Residence_Wrap_Up
- Martin Poulter : The two distinctive angles I have to offer are
that 1) my residency is now explicitly about culturally diversifying Wikimedia projects- not just about the host institution’s
collections. 2)
using Wikidata queries to support my work on Wikipedia, e.g. to find translations into other languages of articles I’ve written. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:MartinPoulter/queries/khalili
- Pierre-Yves Beaudouin if he attends Wikimania
- Hugo Lopez : part of a project from the Ministry of higher
education and research: the ministry is funding 3 WIR per year in 3
big
universities + 1 coordinator at Wikimédia France. This project
started last
month. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:MartinPoulter/queries/khalili

Thanks Blace for starting the pad. Much appreciated (I have been
dying
in my bed from Covid for the last 2 days...) I copy paste on it my small summary from above

Please start adding your names and let's continue the conversation...
