Hi all,

For anyone working with Wikimedia Commons, there was an announcement for WikiCommons Query Service (for SPARQL queries and Structured Data on Commons) leaving beta testing and going into production in February 2022. That's mostly good news, but the caveat is that authentication will be required to use the service. I've posted some concerns on the talk page of the proposal, as it may pertain to GLAM institutions and the general public availability of Commons content. I thought this would be an issue of interest to WREN folks, so here are some links:
