Hello Isaac, I've some exciting news to share with you.
1. Our local chapter, Wikimedia Bangladesh (WMBD) has joined us as the organizer. They'll take care of the prizes and help to organize the campaign in Bangladesh. Tanvir bhaiya wikitanvir@gmail.com(User:Wikitanvir) will collaborate with us from WMBD. We're planning to arrange weekly discussion sessions on zoom where the participants will be able to interact with us directly. We've found this technique useful in our previous editathons.
2. I invited Notre Dame English Club (NDEC) to encourage their members to participate in this campaign and they agreed. This Notre Dame College https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notre_Dame_College,_Dhaka(NDC)-based extra-curricular organization is the oldest and the largest English club in Bangladesh as I know. Nafis Sadiq saadiqnafis@gmail.com is collaborating from their side. We're trying to arrange training sessions for them as early as possible. I would like to thank the hon'ble moderator of NDEC, Suranjita Barua madam suranjitabarua16@gmail.com (Senior Lecturer, English Dept., Notre Dame College) for her kind cooperation. Our monitoring tool is saying https://hashtags.wmflabs.org/graph/?query=WPWPBN that NDEC member Tazim tazim4769@gmail.com ( User:Your Poltergeist O3) is in the 4th position right now. Best wishes to him! It's amazing to see them signing up for Wikipedia with little or no training and jumping to the top of the list within hours. They've also shown interest to help enriching NDC, Dhaka related articles in Bangla, English and Simple English Wikipedia in the upcoming days. If the inclusion of NDEC in this campaign shows a notable impact on our campaign, we'll try to include similar educational institutions or co-curricular organizations in our next campaigns.
3. Our review team is experiencing some problems using the hashtag monitoring tool. They've reported the tool to be slow. It takes time to be updated. Besides the reverted "wrong edits" are also being shown in the tool. So our reviewers can't get the exact metrics after reviewing. I'll grateful if you help us with these issues.
Best, Mrb Rafi.
Hi Rafi and friends,
I am really excited about this news and we are glad that you are recruiting Notre Dame English Club to participate in this campaign. This is a strategic approach to recruiting more volunteers for Bangla Wikipedia.
We are glad that the campaign is going on smoothly in your community and the news that Wikimedia Bangladesh is co-organising the campaign with you and the weekly event you are planning to organise are thrilling.
One good news; globally, Wikipedia Bangla is currently the top on the list of Wikipedia with the most articles improved with photos. This is a clear evidence that your hard work is impactful.
We are glad to learn about User:Your Poltergeist contributions. We have a special prize for top new contributor and they might just be the winner of that international prize if they continue with this pace.
On the concern you raised about the hashtags tracking rate, I want to confirm that we are aware of the issue and this have been raised with the tool manager and they have optimized it. Although, it's an hour late in real-time tracking but it's working fine.
The "reverted wrong edits" are shown as part of "revisions". When you query the hashtags database, the revisions are shown and the actual pages improved are shown below it.
If a user isn't getting it, and they are being reverted multiple times, such user may be asked to stop, attend training and continue thereafter. If the disruption continue, they should be disqualified and we should be notified.
Best regards
Isaac

Hello Isaac,
Thanks for your response. I've some questions.
1. Where can I find the ranking of all participating communities? The query of #WPWP from the monitoring tool is showing English Wikipedia in the first position but they are not an individual participating community. These statistics will help us to improve our strategies.
2. Would you please let me know the exact number of countries and communities participating in this campaign globally? We'll use that information to motivate our editors to contribute.
3. How can we get the top new contributor ranking?
4. The monitoring tool shows the total revised edit number at the top of the page but in the graphs and participants' contribution, we're not sure whether those numbers are "revised" or not. I think the other communities are using this tool perfectly. It would be better if we could know how they're conducting the review process. One of our local organizing team members is also trying to design a bot that will serve as a backup of the monitoring tool. We'll also get enough customizability if we're successful in building the bot.
5. The petscan tool is recommending articles with images frequently despite mentioning that we want articles without images only. That's why the team which is working to update our "suggested article list https://w.wiki/3TCP" is depending on the quarry tool https://quarry.wmflabs.org/.
6. Would you please update the related documents of this campaign mentioning WMBD as the organizer in Bangladesh? We've already updatedthis page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Pages_Wanting_Photos_2021/Participating_Communities (the 24th item of the list).

Hello Rafi,
How are you doing ? Please see my response inline below.
1. Where can I find the ranking of all participating communities? The query of #WPWP from the monitoring tool is showing English Wikipedia in the first position but they are not an individual participating community. These statistics will help us to improve our strategies.
*Thank you, Rafi. Here is the link to the ranking https://bit.ly/2Upvw0g*
2. Would you please let me know the exact number of countries and communities participating in this campaign globally? We'll use that information to motivate our editors to contribute.
*56 Wikimedia affiliates communities from 50 countries*
*3. How can we get the top new contributor ranking? *
*We define "new contributors'' as users whose accounts were created between 1st of July to 31st of August. To determine the new contributor, query your hashtag https://hashtags.wmflabs.org/graph/?query=WPWPBN, Under top users, download csv, check the registration date of the top 10 editors, and compare the accounts creation date. If no new editor is in the top 10, check the registration date of the participants (they are 38 at the time of this response)*
*Please focus more on the actual page they added photos and not the revision. The winners are usually in the top 10. You don't need to review every single article they edited but you could review at random articles they added photos. For example, Nazrul Islam is the top contributor, You ould review 50 articles they added photos at random. If the error rate is high, you could disqualify them as the winner even though they are the top contributor. If a user added photos to 50 articles, and they made an error in 15-20 articles out of 50, they cannot be awarded a winning prize and it's justifiable to disqualify them.*
*5. * The petscan tool is recommending articles with images frequently despite mentioning that we want articles without images only. That's why the team which is working to update our "suggested article list https://w.wiki/3TCP" is depending on the quarry tool https://quarry.wmflabs.org/.
*Petscan has its own imitation but have you seen this tool https://fist.toolforge.org/wd4wp/#/? It's a very useful tool that will bring articles without images and the images side-by-side.*
6. Would you please update the related documents of this campaign mentioning WMBD as the organizer in Bangladesh? We've already updatedthis page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Pages_Wanting_Photos_2021/Participating_Communities (the 24th item of the list)

Hello Isaac,
Thanks for your cooperation.
The first link which should lead to the global ranking isn't working. Don't know whether it's only me or not. I think we can do a lot of works with the hashtag monitoring tool. It's really a great tool but there's also a good chance to make it more useful. I think the "WD4WP" tool doesn't support bnwiki. And thanks a lot for updating the docs.
Kind regards, Mrb Rafi.

If a user added photos to 50 articles, and they made an error in 15-20 articles out of 50, they cannot be awarded a winning prize and it's justifiable to disqualify them.*

How can we get the top new contributor ranking?
The monitoring tool shows the total revised edit number at the top of
the page but in the graphs and participants' contribution, we're not sure whether those numbers are "revised" or not. I think the other communities are using this tool perfectly. It would be better if we could know how they're conducting the review process. One of our local organizing team members is also trying to design a bot that will serve as a backup of the monitoring tool. We'll also get enough customizability if we're successful in building the bot.

Isaac

Hello Isaac, I've some exciting news to share with you.
- Our local chapter, Wikimedia Bangladesh (WMBD) has joined us as the
organizer.
- I invited Notre Dame English Club (NDEC) to encourage their members
to participate in this campaign and they agreed.
- Our review team is experiencing some problems using the hashtag
monitoring tool. They've reported the tool to be slow. It takes time to be updated. Besides the reverted "wrong edits" are also being shown in the tool. So our reviewers can't get the exact metrics after reviewing. I'll grateful if you help us with these issues.
Best, Mrb Rafi.
Ooops, Serbian Wikipedia is in the 1st place right now. We're at 3! I'm taking action to boost this campaign in our community. And thanks a lot for your cooperation, Isaac. I'll let you know if I need anything in the future. Take care, Rafi.

query of #WPWP from the monitoring tool is showing English Wikipedia in the first position but they are not an individual participating community. These statistics will help us to improve our strategies.
- Would you please let me know the exact number of countries and
communities participating in this campaign globally? We'll use that information to motivate our editors to contribute.
- The petscan tool is recommending articles with images frequently
despite mentioning that we want articles without images only. That's why the team which is working to update our "suggested article list https://w.wiki/3TCP" is depending on the quarry tool https://quarry.wmflabs.org/.
- Would you please update the related documents of this campaign
mentioning WMBD as the organizer in Bangladesh? We've already updatedthis page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Pages_Wanting_Photos_2021/Participating_Communities (the 24th item of the list).
Kind regards, Rafi.

Isaac

Hello Isaac, I've some exciting news to share with you.
- Our local chapter, Wikimedia Bangladesh (WMBD) has joined us as the
organizer.
- I invited Notre Dame English Club (NDEC) to encourage their members
to participate in this campaign and they agreed.

Hello Rafi,
How are you doing ? Please see my response inline below.
- Where can I find the ranking of all participating communities? The
query of #WPWP from the monitoring tool is showing English Wikipedia in the first position but they are not an individual participating community. These statistics will help us to improve our strategies.
*Thank you, Rafi. Here is the link to the ranking https://bit.ly/2Upvw0g*
- Would you please let me know the exact number of countries and
communities participating in this campaign globally? We'll use that information to motivate our editors to contribute.
- The monitoring tool shows the total revised edit number at the top of
the page but in the graphs and participants' contribution, we're not sure whether those numbers are "revised" or not. I think the other communities are using this tool perfectly.
- Would you please update the related documents of this campaign
mentioning WMBD as the organizer in Bangladesh? We've already updatedthis page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Pages_Wanting_Photos_2021/Participating_Communities (the 24th item of the list)
*Done.*
