Wiki Loves Folklore International team is looking for volunteers for the role of Regional Ambassadors.

Position: Regional Ambassador
Regions:
- MENA (Middle East & North Africa)
- SSA (Sub-Saharan Africa)
- SA (South Asia)
- ESEAP (East, Southeast Asia, & Pacific)
- LAC (Latin America & Caribbean)
- NA (North America)
- NWE (Northern & Western Europe)
- CEECA (Central & Eastern Europe & Central Asia)
Responsibilities:
1. Local Coordination: Facilitate sign-ups for local coordinators and engage with Wikimedia chapters in the respective region.
2. Regional Support: Offer guidance, resources, and assistance tailored to the unique needs of the region.
3. Language & Cultural Mediation: Promote understanding and appreciation of regional linguistic nuances and cultural diversity, ensuring inclusivity in all Wiki Loves Folklore activities.
4. Jury Assistance: Collaborate with the Wiki Loves Folklore jury to identify and shortlist the most representative and captivating regional images for the 2024 competition.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Wikimedia projects and passion for folklore.
- Strong communication skills, both in English and in regional languages.
- Proven experience in community outreach or organizing cultural projects.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of regional nuances.
- Team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
