The puzzle globe copuld be licensed by WMF something like this:
1) A gallery page of weblink and supporter icons and such that can be used
by anyone to promote "10". If you have designed one and would like to have
it considered for the gallery please submit it here (address). These are
licensed purely in connection with "10". They may not be used otherwise, nor
is any part of them licensed for use in any manner that would suggest
(whatever)...
This is the sort of thing lawyers do well. Ask them. But basically have a
gallery of "official" icons, weblinks, imagery etc, anyone can submit to
have their creation added, and those images only (and without amendment may
be used under a suitable restricted license (non-free) in connection with
the (positive) promotion and support of the 10th anniversary...
2) My idea for a 10th anniv. icon would be a slightly richer globe, with
gold hinting and highlighting (not solid gold or all-gold cracks etc...
highlights and slightly richer text. Subtle picking out and a bit of a hint
of richness. An overlaid single "X" in a decent font, and options for text
to the right side

I am really convinced about the idea that it would be
the best, to
make it on Commons.
The question I have is just, how is it with the trademark of the
puzzle-ball if artists and/or photographers use for their creation?
