I love the idea of having a banner on the 15th that invites people to
celebrate by editing. It may be a bit tight to pull this off (unless
our evil geniuses have already got this in the pipeline).

Why not make a fun suggestion about what to edit? I always like to
suggest that people start by editing the article about their hometown
or neighborhood.
Wouldn't it be cool if 500 newspapers could track the changes to the
Minneapolis, Mumbai, and Moscow articles resulting from this little
one day wiki-experiment?
