Hi all,
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Parsoid#Getting_started says:
Getting started
For a quick overview, you can test drive Parsoid using a node web service. Development happens in the Parsoid extension in Git (see tree). If you need help, you can contact us in #mediawiki-parsoid or the wikitext-l mailing list.
Parsoid setup If you want to do an anonymous checkout. git clone https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/p/mediawiki/extensions/Parsoid.git
This is what I did.
What's next? No "./configure", no "make" - what is the next step?
Olaf
Hi Olaf,
There are further instructions in the same page, going over installing node, the dependencies, configuration, running the server, etc. Also, the current Parsoid development is done in the js/ directory in the repository, there you'll find a README.txt files with further info.
If you have any doubt or encounter any problems, feel free to drop by the Parsoid IRC channel (#mediawiki-parsoid on freenode), or send additional messages to this list.
Cheers, Marc

Yes, but only for Debian based machines. I am sitting in front of a SuSE SLES server and am asked to install VE, so I need this Parsoid stuff, whatever this may be.
Is there any binary distribution (rpm) available for Joe Average wiki admins like me? ;-)
Cheers Olaf

The command line instructions should be pretty similar, I think, at least once you get node and npm installed.

If you mean node and npm, I'm sure there are. For Parsoid itself, no, sorry, no binary distributions, as with most node packages.
Cheers, Marc
