A chapter is being worked on for the next edition of the Open Source Architecture ORA book, here:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_architecture_document/text
I suspect there's some more information about current parser project work that should be in there, but isn't. I'm going to be doing an edit pass on that page tonight or tomorrow, and if there's info you think should be in there you or I should put it in?
Cheers, -- jra
Jay -- thanks for offering to edit! Please go ahead and do so.
I would especially like for developers to check https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_architecture_document/text#Executio... for accuracy and completeness. And if anyone could make a quick diagram for "it checks for bad titles, read restrictions, local interwiki redirects..." then that would be GREAT.

Well, y'know, I tried last night, and I discovered that our edit-merge engine isn't everything it could be. :-}
I may find the energy to go at it again tonight.
I was, specifically, though, trying to encourage more input on parser projects, as I know there are several not mentioned there.
