The ANTLR code looks like this:
ANGLE_TAG: { !in_noparse}? => ((ANGLE_TAG_OPEN_ACTUAL) => ANGLE_TAG_OPEN_ACTUAL |(ANGLE_TAG_CLOSE_ACTUAL) => ANGLE_TAG_CLOSE_ACTUAL | '<' { $type=LT; } );
Basically, if it can't match a whole tag, then it just calls the token an LT (less than) and moves on.
