Dear Friends, If there is no major difference of opinion on this issue of hosting an information desk at the CAN InfoTech 2015, shall I proceed and talk with the Organizing committee and look for the possibilities of a stall at the CAN InfoTech 2015? However, if there is any objection, I will be happy to step back. Further, if there are Wikipedians/Wikimedians who would be interested to volunteer for the information desk, could you please raise you hands? We will be sharing information about Nepali Wikipedia to the mass, share the broucher and other information materials to them. If you have any other views, ideas or activities that can be taken forward at the CAN InfoTech, please do share. Also, we might need to raise some resources/funds for supporting the volunteers (Lunch and snacks) as well certification (if asked and felt necessary) can someone look for some approach to raise funds as well? A grand thanks to Nepali Wikipedia founder Wikipedian Mr. Indiver today at the Nepali Wikipedia Information Desk at the CAN InfoTech 2015 and awarding All the Wikipedian and FOSS volunteers each with Free Web hosting and VPS for one year to start with. Thanks for your encouraging visit Indiver ji and for the award to recognize the our untiring volunteers. I am fully aware that many among us will have difference of views, opinion and interest regarding the actual value of this kind of public Outreach in comparison to In-wiki activism and contribution, however we are really enjoying the level of general public enquirers about Nepali Wikipedia and queries as how they can add /editing Wikipedia content. As per demand we are also promised to them that we will be delighted to have wiki-school on every Saturday from 1:00- 4:00 pm as per their demand. Please do volunteer if you can conduct some of these Wiki-School sessions. Finally, we are still short of onsite Nepali Wikipedian volunteers to guide these visitors more properly. Nawaraj is doing a great job, but he handling the visitors from beginning to the end and didn't get a single chance to leave the desk. Hence If anyone is still available or coming to visit CAN InfoTech coming days, could you kindly plan 1-2 hours for supporting this Nepali Wikipedia desk. Thanks again for all your support and faith.
