Dear All,We still do not have sufficient number of volunteers for the CAN InfoTech to interact and inform about the Nepali Wikipedia to the Visitors. However, if there is any objection, I will be happy to step back.Further, if there are Wikipedians/Wikimedians who would be interested to volunteer for the information desk, could you please raise you hands? We will be sharing information about Nepali Wikipedia to the mass, share the broucher and other information materials to them. If you have any other views, ideas or activities that can be taken forward at the CAN InfoTech, please do share. Also, we might need to raise some resources/funds for supporting the volunteers (Lunch and snacks) as well certification (if asked and felt necessary) can someone look for some approach to raise funds as well?Looking forward to hear some blips from the community. With kind regards,Hempal ShresthaG.P.O Box: 55011753 Ramshah Path, Near Nepal Share Market,Putalisadak, Kathmandu, Nepal+977-1-4261459 (O) / +977-9851077031(M)On Mon, Jan 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM, Hempal Shrestha <hempalshrestha@gmail.com> wrote:Dear All,As you all know, CAN InfoTech is being organized from January 28-February 02, 2015 in Brikhuti Mandap. This year also, the organizer have expected to have more than 400,000/- visitors in the CAN InfoTech.Along with the general mass, there will be high profile visitors as well including the Secretaries and other Academic officials. I personally find this to be a good platform to meet, interact and share about Nepali Wikipedia to general mass. From our experience in the past such Information Desk at the CAN SofTech 2014 and Nepal National Science Day 2014, general masses are not at all aware about the Existence of Nepali Wikipedia, leave alone about possibility to edit these Wikipedia by them or anyone in the world.Hence, I was wondering, if the Nepalese Wikipedian community will also be able to putup a Information Desk at the CAN InfoTech 2015.If, there is no objection to the idea and have some leading volunteers (say around 5-6 volunteers) to be in the information desk from January 27-Feburary 02, 2015, I will be happy to talk and request (if feasible) for an stall Nepali Wikipedians, (in Gratis ie. @ no Charge) from CAN InfoTech Organizing Committee. Normally these stall's minimum cost is Rs 35,000/- For more information about the CAN InfoTech 2015 visit the link: http://caninfotech.org.np/Please do share your ideas, observation and objection if any to this possible effort. With kind regards,Hempal ShresthaG.P.O Box: 55011753 Ramshah Path, Near Nepal Share Market,Putalisadak, Kathmandu, Nepal+977-1-4261459 (O) / +977-9851077031(M)
