[Wikipedia Library User Group] Endorsing the Wikimedia 2030 Strategic Direction?

Hello everyone! We'd like to inform you about the Wikimedia 2030 Strategic Direction <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017>. If you haven't already heard about that, it is a deep look into our future as a community, where do we see ourselves in the next 15 years, what do we want and what changes should we make? Today is Endorsement day <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Direction/…> for the strategy, and we would like to know whether we should *as a user group*, endorse this direction or not. Endorsement doesn't mean 100% agreement but support for continuing the process with this document as a foundation. Make Wikipedia's Citations More Open with OAbot

It's #openaccess <https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/openaccess?source=feed_text> week and The Wikipedia Library is taking part with a viral, microcontribution campaign called #OAwiki <https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/oawiki?source=feed_text>. The idea is simple: go to the web app OAbot <http://www.oabot.org>, review a citation with a closed access (paywalled) link, check the suggested open citation, and add the open link to the citation if it's a good fit. Wikipedia Library User Group is being renamed!

*Hello! In the past few months, the Wikipedia Library User Group[1] has been undergoing some major planning and developments. We just finished our very first open call with the user group members, which was a great success (see the meeting minutes [2]). If you joined us during the meeting, we’d like to thank you for your interest. If not, not to worry, we have lots of things planned for the user group in which you can participate.We'd like to inform you that based on the input received from the user group members and the founding members, it was agreed that the Wikipedia Library User Group’s name be reconsidered by a voting process. We’d like to invite you to vote on the list of potential names. You can vote by following this link[3]. The poll will run for a timeframe of two weeks. Thank you.
