Hey Guys,
I delivered the training for the above in Botswana and it went really well much against my initial fears :-).
I would have loved to give you guys all the neaty-gritty details and juice of my trip but am sorry am really caught up with my academic work and I will have to postpone that...my apologies.
Generally there was lots of enthusiasm from the students and lecturers as well about Wikipedia., and I hope this will seed a Wikipedia Community in Botswana.
I will be happy to respond to any questions from members but will make the detailed report at a later date...
Best

I'd like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Oscar for his dedication and his commitment for this effort. This was a significant time investment, and involved speaking before a large crowd and fielding questions, and Oscar did it like a champ! :)
I urge all of you to try to meet up some time soon, while the memories are fresh, and to have Oscar share his experience with you all. Maybe on an Editing Saturday?
Cheers,
Asaf
Hi,
I had proposed we have our first Wikisaturday on the 29th October but no member upto now has proposed the venue.
On that note, I would like to suggest that we hold the met-up at JKUAT Juja campus. I suspect strathmore shall have closed as they are taking examinations perfectly. * Somebody should clarify this*
Having talked with Oscar since he jetted back, and he is so loaded with lots of experiences that are worth sharing.
Thank you and keep up the nice work.
Regards, stephen
Sorry to tell you that I'll miss the meeting on October 29th but I'll be with you in spirit.
And kudos to Oscar for doing the training in Botswana - you've done us proud!
Best,
Oliver (aka Baba Tabita)

Hi everyone,
I'm in Nairobi for a couple of days and wanted to find Wikipedians to chat to about challenges you might have had with finding sources and having articles deleted on .en Wikipedia. My research is part of this project with the WMF and Ushahidi https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/meta/wiki/Research:Understanding_sour...
I had a great chat to Phares today and am meeting with Limoke tomorrow at the iHub. We realised that the iHub article that Phares started has been deleted https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deleti... because of so-called 'copyright infringement'.
If you would like to stop by and chat to me, I'd be most grateful -
Let me know :)
Thanks!
Best, Heather.
P.S. The Kenyan incursion into Somalia page is being nominated for deletion here https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deleti.... Was wondering what you might think about this.
