Hi guys, Yesterday I got to have an impromptu chat with the newest of the members: Jessica & Sameer. Since both of them come from Strath, I also invited the rest of the Strath team. Jessica had the following suggestions regarding the launch and the pilot program: *That we host the launch at Strathmore Auditorium*, to cut down on venue expenses;*That the pilot should cover about 3 regions (and not the initial 10. It is a ''pilot'', after all.)*Since this was not a formal meetup, there were no minutes taken - so pardon me if there is any other issue that was raised that I have left out. After Jessica left, the rest of us (Alex, Sameer and myself) debated on which 3 regions we would select. I suggested that it would be logical to first cut off the regions that did not yet have the ten schools. These were: Kisii, Nakuru, Laikipia, Kericho & Eldamaravin. The regions that are complete, as of today are: Mombasa, Nairobi, kakamega, Meru, Vihiga & Nyeri. Out of these six: we chose:
- Mombasa, Coast Province2. Nyeri, Central Province.3. Kakamega, Western
Province. The above three regions are diverse and will give us a fair representation of what to expect when we move countrywide, as we would have had different experiences from these three provinces. Please note that the above were our suggestions only, and you all have the right to voice out your suggestions as well. I think Alex/Sameer/Jessica/Ann will fill in any details that I might have left out. Thanks,Abbas. *P.S. - Please note that the Wikipedians in Bristol will also be holding their event at a University; and the Founder will be there: http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol

The problem with having it at UoN is that their halls have inbuilt seats, meaning we can't put dinner tables.
Alternatively, we could change the date and still hold it at Strathmore: either on Thursday or Saturday. Problem is Thursday is in the middle of the week (making attendance difficult for the working class) while Saturday's too casual. And Saturday is also the date when Ting is going back:-(

Hey Abbas,
I think Oscar was referring to UoN as a place for a meet-up prior to the project launch. As Sam mentioned, we could use this meet-up as a workshop on how to use Kiwix as well as discuss other stuff in preparation for the launch.

My suggestion would be Nairobi instead of Nyeri, Central province so that those of us who wun't be able to travel to any of the other two areas [because of internship or school] can be involved in the pilot as well.
