Hi nice people,
A brief summary of what ensued at the conference.
I must first thank God, then everyone else who organized or participated in a way or the other to make our presence at the just concluded ICT conference a success.
I managed to give a talk and there are a few things worth noting;
*Guys were very curious why their lecturers/tutors REALLY discouraged use of Wikipedia as reference material.
*Reliability of the articles in that most of them are edittable by even non-account holders.
+1 *We received a visit at our booth from a lecturer from Kabarak University and he suggested we pay his university a visit. The aim of the visit is to engage students in "Wikimedia's real thing" as he put it. Which essentially meant we spend time with his students showing them how they can edit, use wiki-mark up, how they can relate class work with our other projects e.t.c
*He also invited us for an annual international conference between 12th-14th October 2011 set to take place at Kabarak University in Nakuru.
You can also follow up on some tweets about the conference via #suictconf.
Once again,thank you everyone and keep up the nice work.
cheers, steve.
