Hi,
While I was at our booth/tent after my presentation at the ICT conference, I was approached by a lecturer from Kabarak and he invited us Wikimedia Kenya to give a talk to his students. He told me they were organizing a full day event on 23rd September (proposed date) where their Computer science and IT students will attend to learn and hear from various industry players such as us.
In his email ........"As the Firefox and Wikimedia we are aware that you have a lot to offer educational institutions and we will be very glad to have you participate......"
Essentially what he expects of us;
1. A thorough exposition of the resources available from Wikimedia.
2. Possible collaborations with the university.
3. Opportunities available for students in terms of industrial attachments and projects.
4. Any other offering that we have that can add value to the students.
They expect to have a plenary where each company/organisation among which they shall invite will have at least 1 hr to address the students as well as an exhibition for further demonstrations.
That was their proposal and he added that we feel freely free to make suggestions on how we can make it better.
Cheers, Stephen
Hi,
Please note that just in case we attend this event we shall be representing the Wikimedia foundation.....
Just to avoid unnnecessary confusion.
cheers

Steve, The only persons that are in capacity to speak on behalf of, and represent the Wikimedia Foundation, are the Foundation Staff, Foundation's Board of Trustees and the Foundation's Advisory Board. Abbas.
