Hi guys,
So just an update of what I've been upto regarding this so far.
Strathmore university has already confirmed to have Asaf give a talk to their students. I met with our faculty manager and he's also interested in meeting us to lay grounds for future collaborations with Wikimedia.
As for Nairobi university and Nairobits college, I'm waiting to get confirmation from them this week.
Oscar also got in touch with KU and seems like they'll be on holiday during Asaf's visit. I'm hoping we could still have a meetup with their admin though.
I'm also looking into getting in contact with the Ministries of Education and Information Technology as well as with the ICT Board for possible meetups.
I think that's it. At least for know.
Regards,
Alex.

Dear Dr. Ndege,
I work for the Wikimedia Foundation <http://wikimediafoundation.org/>, the
US-based non-profit operating *Wikipedia* in 280 languages around the world.
I am about to visit Nairobi around mid-August, and wanted to explore ways we
could collaborate with Kenyatta University to further our shared goal of
spreading knowledge in Africa. We have an active group of volunteers in
Nairobi known as "Wikimedia Kenya", and they will be able to carry out
programs with our support. Such programs include giving talks on how to
best use Wikipedia or how to contribute content to Wikipedia; producing and
distributing packaged subsets of Wikipedia adapted for particular audiences
(e.g. children, students) or topics (e.g. biology, economics), using free
software (zero cost) and viewable without an Internet connection;
encouraging the creation of most-needed content through writing
competitions, in coordination with educational institutions; and more.
I would very much like to meet with you, if you can spare the time, during
my stay in Nairobi. I will be in Nairobi Aug 15th through Aug 18th.
I write to you as I understand you are (or had been) involved with OER
Africa and the PHEA project. If you are not (or no longer are) the best
person to approach at KU, I would appreciate it if you could refer me to a
more appropriate contact at KU.
Thanks in advance,
Asaf Bartov

I'm not sure if there's a simpler way to this but you can try checking out mediawiki extentions for slideshow galleries.

You saw one pic although I had planned to put up 3 thumbnail pics on the mainpage while the whole gallery on the [[gallery]] tab on the sidebar -- this is still work in progress. However, if I get to know whether and how the slideshow is made, then I'll do it your way.

Hi,
Just an FYI -- I'm reconstructing our website, so don't be surprised when you open the website and find it messy.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Hi.
Are you guys aware of this? Of "Kabissa" in general?
Cheers,

Dear Kabissa community,
One of the greatest benefits of the Kabissa online platform is the ability
of members to showcase the good work their organizations are engaged in on a
daily basis. In order to allow members to tell the stories of their
organizations in the most vibrant way possible, Kabissa launched its first
ever photo competition earlier in June.
To date, we have received numerous photos from a wide range of organizations
across Africa, and we encourage those who have not had the opportunity to
submit, to do so before the deadline of *Monday, July 4*.
To submit your photo and a short description that describes how the photo
represents the mission of your organization, please go to:
http://www.kabissa.org/photocompetition <http://photocompetition>. Those
photos that are chosen as the most compelling will be featured on the
Kabissa frontpage and newsletters.
This is a wonderful chance for you, Kabissa’s members, to put your
organization front and center to the whole Kabissa community and use the
power of images to highlight the work you do.
The above photos are examples of the submissions we have received so far.
- Left-hand photo – (Courtesy Vickie Ward/Victor E. Ward Educational
Fund) – Young girls at the Ward Academy receiving a quality education by
learning computer technology.
- Right-hand photo – (Courtesy Marvis Zeo/HILLS Liberia) Women being

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your photos!
Sincerely,
Sami Ghazi
