Waasalumu ,
I hope we are doing great. It has been a week since I asked for your
input into the above. Since I got none, I went ahead with the plans
for the same.
So Wkimedia Kenya and Mozuilla Kenya had sometime last year discussed
and greed on having an Outreach this year to introduce guys to our
work.(https://etherpad.mozilla.org/Kenya-Mozilla-Wikimedia-Outreach
and https://etherpad.mozilla.org/Kenya-Road-Trip-Institutions)
For Wikimedia, we would hold a few Wiki Academies to show guys how and
what it takes to create Wikipedia and hope they will be apart of it
and contribute if not make good use of other Wikimedia Resources in
their daily life.
So the first outreach is almost here with us and I have been working
on it with Alex from the Mozilla Camp and since we do not have
sufficient budget and resources as Mozilla does ( I understand they
really do have lots of cash for Outreach this year :-) ), we have
agreed that Wikimedia Kenya will only need to cater for the boarding
and travel expenses for its participants. We are still ironing out the
details of hiring or finding a venue. Our audience in Mombasa will
include guys from GTUG Mombasa and a few techies and developers in
Mombasa and calling for a few students who would make it to the
meetup. We have a liaison with the GTUG Guys in Mombasa helping with
the coordination.
So this is a call for anyone keen on helping or who has a presentation
and teaching to do to step forward (A maximum of 3 people). Tentative
dates are March 9th to 10th
Your input is eagerly awaited and volunteers too
Regards,
--
Limoke Oscar,
Hi folks,
I would like to ask you a favour... We have two translation requests for
the fundraiser that we would like to have in Swahili, so it would be great
if any of you could help translate them. These are for a fundraiser test
that will be done in many African countries, amongst them Kenya and
Tanzania on the 27th. Would you be able to help translate the two pages
into Kiswahili before then?
The two pages are linked here:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising_2012/Translation
Just go to one of the pages and press "Translate this page" on top, choose
Swahili, and start translating. If you have any questions, let me know.
P.S. Me and some friends are going on vacation in East Africa in April,
would be great to meet up with you guys then. Not sure of the exact dates
I'll be in Kenya yet though. (Oh, don't post anything about it on my
Facebook wall, we are going to surprise a friend in Uganda who doesn't know
we are coming at all.)

Hello Nice People,
As we prepare for the meet-up on the coming weekend I would like to *propose
* we have a photo walk on either of the weekends following 11th, that is
18th or 25th February.
The point of this photo walk is not just to capture pictures of notable
buildings and monuments around Nairobi, but to also ask people to log on to
commons and check it out by themselves.**
All Wikipedians and non-Wikipedians are invited to participate in teams (no
special knowledge is required at all, just a digital Camera and a love of
the city;)
Regards,
Stephen.

Hi Everyone,,
I trust we are all well and the excitement and partying dust has
settled following our recognition as the 39th Chapter. :-)Time to
chatr way forawd and serious issues.
So we all remember sometime last year we were planning for an Outreach
to various campuses across Kenya to introduce students to the Culture
and editing Wikipedia. Well, the first of such outreach is almost here
with us and we have plans to visit a few campuses in Mombasa in early
March along the Mozilla Kenya team. The details are still sketchy and
I would appreciate your input and contribution into the same. You can
find the Meat page for the same here :

PS: who was responsible for posting the Last Meetups minutes?
