Good morning friends,
The DCW has scheduled offline and online meetings to discuss the Movement Charter and seek the community's feedback on it between 7 and 15 December. Since the Wikimedia Movement has changed over the last twenty years, there is a push from the Movement Strategy towards formation of a Global Council, and as thus, "The Movement Charter will be a document defining roles and responsibilities for all the members and entities of the Wikimedia movement, including laying out a new Global Council for movement governance. The Movement Charter is a Movement Strategy priority".
That said, our representation in the Movement-wide discourses is something that could help us stabilize. The Movement Charter will remain getting changed and modified until it is finally ratified. We have set up two offline meetings to gain feedback of our community on this, the first in Hyderabad, India between 8 and 11 December, subsequently followed by the second one in Deoband. We will be documenting and submitting our feedback between 15 and 20 December.
Should you have any questions or ideas about online meetings, please reply to this email.
Regards,
Aafi
