I agree with Häggström. A test wiki would be most useful if located somewhere like the WMF incubator where it can more easily be deployed into its own project if the separate WikiJournal https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiJournal proposal goes through. Although I can understand how sitting within Wikiversity can confuse potential authors and peer reviewers (espec. the left hand side menu), I've no experience at running a separate test wiki, so wouldn't really be able to help with any of the technical aspects.

Hi all,
It would be beneficial to have a wiki of our own, since it would for example reduce the risk of newcomers getting lost among all the other Wikiversity pages. The latest peer reviewer I came in contact with found the structure to be rather confusing, so with a wiki of our own we'd be able to have a much simpler page.
Yet, it shouldn't be disconnected from Wikimedia projects. I wouldn't want us to move all the pages to an external site, making us need to move all the pages again when it's approved as a Wikimedia sister project. The ideal solution would be something like the Wikimedia Incubator https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Incubator:Main_Page but that one only works for new language versions of existing wikis.
Best regards,
Mikael

I think having a test wiki is excellent. Many thanks. This is a critical step towards one day being our own sister site. This will increase our reputation significantly.

Hi, thanks or the initiative! Thought a test wiki makes some sense, I must say that my first thought is that it isn't necessary at this point. We should be more concerned in getting contributors and content than in migrating everything and setting up a new home. I see no great advantages and I do see lots of extra work. But maybe you see big advantages?
