I would like to request that anyone who runs an automatic archiving bot, that is interested in running one also on the Commons, please contact me.

I described in an email to commons-l here ( http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/commons-l/2006-September/000626.html ) briefly what kind of archiving is required, but I think there are no bot operators on that list, so hopefully this email will get a better reception. :)
