We are about to pick up our work on the next Wikibase Suite releases. As communicated earlier https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/wikibaseug@lists.wikimedia.org/message/HRLNLDSEJOYJE7VSLEY2UOHYF4OUDL3B/, we have focused on launching Wikibase.Cloud in the past months, and aim to get back to a regular release cycle this year.

Currently, our plan is to first do a maintenance release of Wikibase Suite compatible with Mediawiki 1.35. Next, we intend to make a release based on Mediawiki 1.37 so that current users of Wikibase Suite based on Mediawiki 1.36 can update their installations. We will then publish a release based on Mediawiki 1.38.

Published releases will support the PHP versions that the relevant Mediawiki versions support. We are looking into supporting PHP 8 but it will likely only come with the MW 1.38 compatible releases in late 2022.
