Some investigation is required to get a clearer understanding of these problems. Unfortunately, WMDE engineers have no capacity to look into it at the moment. Perhaps your institution’s IT department or the service providers listed here https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikibase/Consultants_and_Support_Providers can help.
Also, consider signing up for early access to Wikibase.Cloud https://lime.wikimedia.de/index.php/717538 where you can manage a full-fledged Wikibase without the complexity of setting it up on your own.

I think I've made a mistake in mapping my prosop.wiki domain. I say this because when I search the entities I've made (for example https://tinyurl.com/2hmjowza), the resulting items use the numeric url of my web host (e.g., http://75.119.152.22/entity/Q9) rather than the custom domain name.
Further note: on the main page, many special pages (such as recent changes and random page) give no results. I wonder if this is due to the same problem?
Also, I may have done something ham-fisted with http / https
Standard plea: I'm a middle east historian with extremely limited understanding of web deployment. I am a fervent believer in the use of wikibase to my research domain...if I could just get it to work!
