Hi everyone,
Our next Wikidata+Wikibase office hours
<https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Events#Office_hours> will be held
on Wednesday, July 12th 2023 at 16:00 UTC (18:00 Berlin) in the Wikidata
Telegram group <https://t.me/joinchat/IeCRo0j5Uag1qR4Tk8Ftsg>.
The Wikidata and Wikibase office hours are online events where the
development team presents what we have been working on over the past
quarter, and the community is welcome to ask questions and discuss
important issues related to the development of Wikidata and Wikibase.
We hope to see you there.

Dear all,
I am wondering how to create Lexemes on our Wikibase, FactGrid, with QuickStatements - is there anyone who could teach me the trick?
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:QuickStatements
...does not quite tell me.
Best,
Olaf

I'm not sure if this is the right place to pose this technical issue, but I'm writing here because I've been having this problem for almost a month and it hasn't been resolved.
I'm using wikibase for a personal research project and the search function doesn't seem to be working properly.
First of all, I used the docker image file distributed by Wikimedia Germany and deployed it on the Digital Ocean server.
https://github.com/wmde/wikibase-release-pipeline
Afterwards, I imported a backed up XML file that I worked with on my local server. During this process, I referred to this tutorial: https://www.wikibase.consulting/transferring-wikibase-data-between-wikis/
The import itself went well and each Q-item is accessed and displayed by its URL.
The problem is that the search bar is not working, it used to show a preview of all the matches, now it just shows a spinning wheel no matter what you type and then returns "no matches found".
To resolve this issue, I referenced the article below,
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:U04sszz2xwara40g
I set LocalSettings.php to the following settings
wgWBRepoSettings['enableEntitySearchUI'] = false;
$wgResourceModules['wikibase.ui.entitysearch']['scripts'] = [];
But that still didn't solve the problem.
I also deleted the docker volume and reinstalled wikibase to try to fix the problem, but even then the search bar didn't work.
The problem was that the search bar didn't work after I changed the settings in the docker-compose.yml file to the IP address below, as referenced in this tutorial.
https://semlab.io/howto/wikibase_basic
QS_PUBLIC_SCHEME_HOST_AND_PORT=http://167.99.xxx.xxx:9191
wb_public_scheme_host_and_port=http://167.99.xxx.xxx:8181
Nevertheless, I believe the search bar itself should work if you have reinstalled.
I'd be grateful if you've had a similar experience and could help.
Many Thanks!
Hello,
In 2018, the Wikibase Registry was started to create a Wikibase of Wikibases, linking the different Wikibases in existence together in pursuit of a greater “Wikibase federation."
The Registry was started as a standalone Wikibase on Wikimedia Cloud Services, and it had fallen behind in content and technical maintenance. Lack of effective anti-spam measures meant strict editing restrictions, which did not help.
Since then, a new Wikibase Cloud supported by Wikimedia Germany was created. Since this service will continue to receive software updates and generally has more features, I have migrated the contents of Wikibase Registry to a new wiki at a new URL: <https://wikibase.world>. I encourage you to sign up and, if you have a Wikibase accessible over the open internet, to add an entry for it.
Links to Wikibase Registry will continue to work indefinitely. As Wikibase World is a new wiki with new item and property identifiers, I have created a static mapping between old and new at <https://wikibase-registry.wmflabs.org/mapping>. This mapping forms the basis of the redirect service; try visiting <https://wikibase-registry.wmflabs.org/wiki/Item:Q5> or <https://wikibase-registry.wmflabs.org/entity/P19> to see it in action.
The old Wikibase Registry is available as a read-only archive at <https://wikibase-registry-archive.wmcloud.org/wiki/Main_Page>. It says on the site that it is going offline today, July 1, but so long as no vulnerabilities in the old version of MediaWiki being used are being exploited in its read-only state I can keep it online indefinitely[1]. However, once it goes offline, you should assume it will not return. However, be assured that final XML and RDF dumps were created and uploaded to the Internet Archive: <https://archive.org/details/wikibase-registry-final-2023-06-16>.
Finally, I have created a companion Discourse to go along, at <https://forum.wikibase.world>. This Discourse can also be used for other Wikibases that wish to have a place for discussion without setting up their own forum.
Thank you,
James Hare
