The various exchanges we've had going about conflicting memories of rubber chickens and Hamlet chickens and Delphine's belt buckle reminded me of this little 5-minute gem from the show "This American Life," illustrated by UT alum Chris Ware.

Thank you Clayton, I just watched the video and OY! - it must be a function of married life but that phenomonon seems so familiar to me. Now, I'm going to spend the rest of the evening trying to recall a specific story where that has happened, hoping that it was my wife falsely "occupying" the story, not me. ----- Original Message ----- From: Clay Stromberger To: weeklong-l@lists.wikimedia.org Sent: Wednesday, July 07, 2010 4:57 PM Subject: [Weeklong-l] False Memory and Jackie Kennedy Onassis Stories - AStoried Career

Hey all. I just noticed a discrepancy between the "major parts" email from Alice and the "play fitted" email from Stan; the first has Matt K as Antiph of Ephesus, and the second has Clayton as Antiph Ephesus and Matt as Antiph Syracuse. A mix up wonderfully appropriate to CoE, but could you clarify? I presume I should stick with Ephesus? Thanks!
(might be worth a quick double check on other parts for everyone)
Matt of Antipholus.

Hi Jayne, Yes, we are doing 2.2. We sent an earlier email, but because it is easy to miss an email these days with so many of them flying, it is good to say it again. Thanks for asking for clarification. Hugs, stan

Stan: You're the man. Or Viola's the man. But like Rosalind, or Ganymede, or Roz-as-Ganymede, you (and The Committee of course) gave commands, and I'm doing my best to follow them, so yes, I've been working on those lines. I will abide by the Oracle and be ready for anything. No lines of Shakespeare are ever learned in vain, in my experience.

Stan and Alice et All,
Was the first "parts" email a list of major roles for each of us? I assumed Antipholus of Ephesus CoE 3.1 was my large charge, but as the whole scene is etched permanently in my brain from '95, I can happily do either.

And Wall and Duke and.... Yes!
Speaking of Ant. S, in June Emma and I were fortunate enough to be able to see "C of E" in L.A. as performed by the Hobart Shakespeareans, the students of Rafe Esquith, in their little classroom in Koreatown.... it reminded me so much of our reunion performance in '90, the wild energy and fun and relish of the words -- one highlight was a wide-eyed 10-year-old Antipholus S. in boxers being dragged across the floor by his feet by a feisty little Adriana (a Terry Galloway moment... I remember the flinging underwear...)!

Hey there,
To clear up one bit of confusion: we are indeed doing C of E 2.2 as well as 3.1. The notations that say "voices within" and "voices without" are artifacts of many generations of spreadsheets that were not cleaned up. I am most sorry for confusion. Let me know if there are any others such as these.
Hugs,

Only one more thing I can think of: We are stopping Hamlet 3.2 at line 2181, Hamlet¹s ³Come, some music,² right before Rosencrantz and Guildenstern reenter.

Hey Alice and Stan,
One more quick question: for the Taming of the Shrew Induction, am I correct that we're just doing scene 2 of the Induction (beginning with "For God's sake, a pot of small ale [a/ka/ "Shiner Bock"] and concluding with "...we shall ne'er be younger"? I figured safer to ask now than on August 7. And, Alice, thank you very much for sharing your terrific essay--you really captured the magic.
Bob

Only one more thing I can think of: We are stopping Hamlet 3.2 at line 2181, Hamlet's "Come, some music," right before Rosencrantz and Guildenstern reenter.
Cheers, Alice

Hey there,
To clear up one bit of confusion: we are indeed doing C of E 2.2 as well as 3.1. The notations that say "voices within" and "voices without" are artifacts of many generations of spreadsheets that were not cleaned up. I am most sorry for confusion. Let me know if there are any others such as these.

Honey pie,
The scene numbers are on the spreadsheet.....
I’m going to make my own script, or just bring my own copies of the plays. Do you know about Opensourceshakespeare.org? It’s got all the plays but no notes.
Wow, see you SOON.
Love, A

Sweet thang,
Did you get the scene numbers? There are no scripts to my knowledge. I pulled out old copies of the play and my collected works. Downloads from the internet are useful, but I suggest that you go to a hard copy to check for differences. Thisbee was misquoted once in one of the scripts I downloaded. Egads!! Let me know if this helps, or does nothing for you. I miss youse also. Can’t wait to fight with ya, ya swabber you.

Hey there,
To clear up one bit of confusion: we are indeed doing C of E 2.2 as well as 3.1. The notations that say “voices within” and “voices without” are artifacts of many generations of spreadsheets that were not cleaned up. I am most sorry for confusion. Let me know if there are any others such as these.
Hugs,
