Hey gang --
I'm looking at ways that Sh at W can take over the second stage of this process. I wrote Curtis about it today, offering to take all the masters off his hands and add them to the Winedale archive (in this case, my office) and handle any further requests for copies. My hunch was that he was already deep into new projects and was ready to clear the shelves and move on, even if it meant losing some potential income on selling extra copies. He generously stated that he really only wanted to cover his costs; I replied that we wanted to make sure he was properly compensated for his hard work.
I suggested he let Doc know his adjusted flat rate fee, so we could make sure he was paid for that. And any of us who have received sets already should go ahead and send in our $10 per set (I owe him for two, I'm pretty sure).
Once I figure out how I can do copies (I'm hoping to make this something that Sh at W does through the Liberal Arts ITS, but I need to clear that with James; if it comes to it, I'll just figure a way to make the copies here and you can just reimburse me that cost), I'll give you a holler to see who needs what.
I'm probably as busy as Curtis (our filmmaker, not Grumio's helper), but you DO know how to track me down (I'll eagerly return any of your phone calls, any chance to chat), and I expect I can get this cranking sometime within a few weeks. So hang in there.... in the meantime, I did order one extra set, so I'm going to send that off to Mike first, since he asked me months ago about sending him a set to copy.
best,
cs

I see, said the blind man. I initially thought it would be one CD $10 and ordered 2 = $20. Actually I owe another $40.. I think. Should I go ahead and send Trey a check or join the foundation?

Note of discovery, info and clarification:
I said I had 9 DVD's. Actually I have three sets of 3 different ones. "Disk 1" covers most of the performance. "Disk 2" completes the performance and also contains "Interviews and photographs (with music underneath)". I think the photography is super. It is a very nostalgic trip. The interviews are of course great: Mary, Alice, Joy. Disk 3 is composed of photographs. So I can send one set to Gail, since she was the first to respond. I am sending the other set to a foundation to raise money. And I am keeping one set for myself. So what we have to do (and I will address it first) is contact Trey about getting other sets to those who do not have them. Do those of you who responded "I have got mine" get all three? Please let me know.
"Early on we agreed to pay Trey (aka Curtis) $10 bucks per DVD and $1000 for filming. He says now he will reduce the $1000 fee. Don't as yet know how much. But we will together have to cover that.
Doc
