Hello everyone,
Like in France, Wikimedia CH has an insurance that covers the material and equipment up to a certain amount.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards Anh

Hi,
Wikimédia France purchased an insurance which is not for each devices, the insurance company covers us until x€. It covers materials for theft, lost, damage and liability to those who use the materials. So the materials are covered in the office but also when in use by members.
The only restriction we have: People have to be member of our organization in order to be covered. In consequence our materials is only available for members (or when a member is responsible of the use, I believe). Every year we have an assessment to be sure the insured amount is enough / still adapted.
I think it's very dependent of the habits in your country, maybe of the law, and of course of the materials (worth, risk,...).
As Richard, I highly recommend to contact an insurance company which could advise you and adapt the answer to your needs. If non-adapted, you won't be totally covered and you could have a financial loss.
Cheers,

Ours comes as part of our office (& officers) insurance: you might not have an office, but it might be worth contacting an insurance company who deal with nonprofits?

I spent some time looking for camera insurance for the camera that Cascadia has requested funding to purchase. It looks like standalone camera insurance is relatively expensive. Personal insurance, even with an endorsement, won't cover a camera that is used regularly for organizational use. How have other orgs arranged for camera insurance, if you have any?
Thanks, Pine
