Hello again,
if we have one or more artists at this list, the toolserver could need an logo for the favicon and the bugzilla.
Sincerly, DaB.

Please, not another logo. Let's just copy the favicon from meta.

I think this is a very appropiate logo for a bugzilla (much better than for wikiversity): http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikiversity/logo#.239_.28Media_Bug.29

That's nice :). I can image to use it.

My idea: http://hemlock.knams.wikimedia.org/~leon/temp_logo.svg -- Leon

nice.

Kind of reminds me of the hammer and sickle, but looks pretty good.
The tools aren't really shaped perfectly-does that add to the look of the logo? I could make a version where the tools are "squared up".

It's symbol of coal-mining probably all over the world :):)

Redraw should be made :)
Personnaly I suggest to do something different: join green halfs in WMF logo, and cut the tools in the green part (maybe tomorrow I'll send link to ''my vision'' of this logo)

Actually, I think the coal miner's symbol is a pick and shovel, so I've made a variation of Leon's idea with those tools, since the Toolserver "mines" for data.
Leon's idea: http://hemlock.knams.wikimedia.org/~leon/temp_logo.svg
My variation: http://hemlock.knams.wikimedia.org/~mdd4696/Toolserver-logo.svg

Nope - coal mining is two types of hammers as is on previous version :P (in Poland for sure :P)

How about this one?
http://tools.wikimedia.de/~misza13/Toolserver-logo2.svg
I could also make a version based off this one:
http://openclipart.org/clipart/tools/tools_nicu_buculei_01.svg
Anyway, I find these tools more "toolish" than the hammer/pick/etc.

In the United Stats as well, although it's not commonly seen: see the logo of the Columbia University School of Engineering (in the background at http://www.engineering.columbia.edu/ ) for an example.

I think they were made to seem like the WMF logo. The toolserver is run by the WM Germany, used for the WMF projects... What's the problem with it? The only bit would be that the images wouldn't be free but {{CopyrightByWikimedia}}

Here's my idea: http://hemlock.knams.wikimedia.org/~gribeco/tools_logo_idea.jpg http://hemlock.knams.wikimedia.org/%7Egribeco/tools_logo_idea.jpg It's not usable as is, but hopefully the concept will be useful. --Kimon/Gribeco
