Hi,
for those of you not having seen TS-1553, mail forwarding seems to have stopped working. So if you haven't received the usual job reports that you were expecting, you might want to login to all servers and check if there is mail for you. You can query all servers by:
| for SERVER in clematis hawthorn nightshade ortelius willow wolfsbane yarrow; do | ssh $USER@$SERVER.toolserver.org ls -l /var/mail/$USER | done
replacing $USER with your username.

Actually, no need to replace it. $USER is set automatically. You can run: $ for SERVER in clematis hawthorn nightshade ortelius willow wolfsbane yarrow; do ssh $USER@$SERVER.toolserver.org test -s /var/mail/$USER && echo $SERVER; done
and it will list for you the servers where you have mail.

Actually, that's only true for those whose username on the toolserver is the same as on their private box :-). I'd have to name my username on the toolserver either explicitly or rely on my ~/.ssh/config:
| Host *.toolserver.org | User timl
and always escape the second $USER so that it is expanded on the toolserver.

I had run the above in the login server. Hadn't noticed you were doing so from local.

I will look at this tomorrow. I guess it is something with the aliasd-daemon again….
Sincerely, DaB.

I patched the aliasd-daemon again and it works now AFAIS. Only users who have no .forward-file were affected. If it still fails for somebody please re-open the bug-report.
Sincerely, DaB.

Here's a list of accounts that still have mail sitting on (one of) these servers, some dating back to October:

For the Unix irregulars, log into the server and execute "mail". "f *" will show you a list of all messages waiting on that server, RET will display the next message, "d" will delete the message shown (Caution: Do not execute twice!), "pre" will leave the message shown in your mailbox, "q" will save the changes you made and quit, "x" will ignore any changes and exit. "man mail" has more information.

It is :-). What I like about mail compared to other tools is that it doesn't do anything not needed, i. e. no ~/Mail directory, no configuration files, etc.
