Hi, first I wish to thank all the toolserver staff for the great service they provide, but I also have a couple of questions, about how the things work:
1. May I add a pubkey to my local permission file in order to allow another person to login with my account? It would be needed in order to allow another wikipedian to take care of the bot when I cannot be online, and I think it's safer than sending my private key around.
2. I have some encoding problem, even setting export LANG=it_IT.UTF-8 it happens that some characters (especially é and ì) aren't rendered correctly. I'm sure I'll six this sooner or later, but if some of you already had the problem any help is appreciated.
Bye and thanks again

No, It's your account. It is no technical problem to add another key to your .ssh/authorized_keys. But it is not permitted to share an account. If you are not sure, that your bot is working right, don't use it, when you offline (wp-de for example forbits bots with non-online-user).
If you need the assistens of an other user, he or she have to add his/herself at [[meta:Toolserver/New accounts]].

I have this problem too. AFAIK it's often a problem with the ssh-client.
Bye and thanks again

It's not that the bot doesn't work well, but as it parses human-written data it requires some regwx fixes from time to time, anyway, it's a minor problem and it can stand alone for a couple of weeks.

Uhmm I guess that my problem is with some of the system utils, as the ssh client is definetly configured correctly.
bye

I found out it was dos2unix, I have replaced it with a perl one-liner: /usr/bin/perl -pi -e 's/\r\n/\n/;' now everything works fine.

Hello,
tried to connect to mysql-server with PHP and mysqli-extension, but without success. Isn't the mysqli-extension installed or did I something wrong?
Bye, Sascha

If you're talking about the toolserver, did you use 'sql' as hostname? Leon
Dear Leon,
Yes, I used sql as hostname. With the standard mysql extension the connection works well, but I can't connect with the newer mysqli extension (and I changed all my PHP code to mysqli in the last months :( ). Maybe PHP is compiled on the toolserver without mysqli-support?
Sascha
