Recently there have been a few changes to the toolserver, including IPv6. Around the same time, ACC (enwp Account Creation Project) stopped recording request IPs and replacing them with wikimedia IPs. Examples are 91.198.174.197 and 91.198.174.208. Could it be anything from the toolserver side? I don't think we have had any changes made to the ACC code in the past few days (Though stwalkerster might have updated the stuff from the sandbox to live--though we haven't had any changes in the IP section anyways).

I suspect this is a result of the change to a Squid proxy. I have filed a bug in JIRA here: https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/TS-1063 - Chris

While this needs to be fixed, I think that this is a perfect time for ACC to discuss creating a system where user's IP addresses and private information is not revealed.

For acc to function, they need to know the IP address of the requester. Otherwise it would be flooded with sockpuppet and vandal requests and make it useless

Anyways, ACC only shows the IP to tooladmins and the handling user. After the request is closed, only tooladmins can view the IP/email, and that too, only for a month or so.

This is also causing problems with para's geoip tool, which is used on the projects.
