Hello Michael and social media elves !
As discussed, we just published a new blog post to invite our community to find great wiki articles (or images) about love:
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
I’m excited to try out this experiment with new types of thematic user-generated content, combining social media, the wikis and the blog.
This new campaign plan — and proposed social media ideas -- is outlined here:
https://docs.google.com/a/wikimedia.org/document/d/1XxLnQGwUA5FaTeLRjRJHcqZ-...
Twitter:
Help find great wiki articles about love for #ValentinesDay: what's your favorite wiki page, image, or video?
Facebook:
What is your favorite Wikipedia article (or image) about love?
As millions prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we'd like to know how love is covered on Wikipedia and its sister projects. Share your favorite wiki articles, pictures, or media about love -- from platonic to fraternal or romantic. We'll post some of your top picks here on Friday Feb. 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Please add your suggestions below, and include a sentence or two about why you picked it!
Learn more on this wiki page: http://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
Thanks for sharing the love :)
Feel free to tweak as you see fit. I defer to you all to determine the best way to get the word out in social networks. Be sure to add final links to the Google doc linked above.
Once we’ve heard from the team, I propose to send an email later today to a few friendly mailing lists like @wmfall, @techambassadors, @editorengagement, @multimedia, as well as to my own community champion contacts. But I will wait to do that until you’ve all commented on this proposal.
I hope we’ll learn a thing or two about new ways to engage our community in user-generated content lists, which can inform our next campaigns. :)
Thanks for sharing the love :)

Hi Fabrice,
I'm super excited about this! : ) Love the blog post announcement.
I think we can get more engagement with a few tweaks for the first time we promote this and get as many eyeballs on the blog post as we can.
How about:

Hey Michael,
Thanks for these fine improvements. :)
I would suggest dropping using AP-style sentence case for the @wikipedia tweet:
Love Wikipedia? Help find great wiki articles about love for #ValentinesDay
For one of the tweets, I think it’s OK to link to the blog, where they can learn more and post suggestions:
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
But as Katherine suggested, we also want a tweet that invites them to share favorites on Twitter, rather than on the blog:
Love Wikipedia? Help find great wiki articles about love for #ValentinesDay : share your favorites under #WikiLove https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
And maybe later:
Love Wikipedia? Help find great wiki images about love for #ValentinesDay : share your favorites under #WikiLove https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
I don’t think we need the Public Domain disclaimer, because if these are wiki images, we can use them under either PD or CC on the blog.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted when you’ve shared on FB, TW and G+ .
I’m going to send out my emails now, as described below.
Thanks,
Fabrice

Not to be obtuse, but what’s a “wiki image”? Possibly rephrase since that doesn’t sound like it makes much sense. Otherwise the tweaks LGTM!

Thanks, Michael!
I find it interesting that the first entry on Facebook is about the Marquis de Sade ...
Some of our followers have devious minds :)
I just emailed @wmfstaff, @editorengagement, @multimedia and @commons.
Let’s see what we get overnight, and we can ping a few more folks over the weekend or on Monday, as needed.
Look forward to learning together :)
Have a great weekend!
Fabrice
P.S.: Victor, yes, I will translate the blog post into French tomorrow, as you suggest :)
Does anyone want to put up the wiki page for translation?
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Love_on_the_wikis
I’m still not sure how to do that properly …

Hey Michael,
Thanks for these fine improvements. :)
I would suggest dropping using AP-style sentence case for the @wikipedia tweet:
Love Wikipedia? Help find great wiki articles about love for #ValentinesDay
For one of the tweets, I think it’s OK to link to the blog, where they can learn more and post suggestions:
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/ https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
But as Katherine suggested, we also want a tweet that invites them to share favorites on Twitter, rather than on the blog:
Love Wikipedia? Help find great wiki articles about love for #ValentinesDay : share your favorites under #WikiLove https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/ https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
And maybe later:
Love Wikipedia? Help find great wiki images about love for #ValentinesDay : share your favorites under #WikiLove https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/ https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
I don’t think we need the Public Domain disclaimer, because if these are wiki images, we can use them under either PD or CC on the blog.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted when you’ve shared on FB, TW and G+ .
I’m going to send out my emails now, as described below.
Thanks,
Fabrice

Hi Fabrice,
I'm super excited about this! : ) Love the blog post announcement.
I think we can get more engagement with a few tweaks for the first time we promote this and get as many eyeballs on the blog post as we can.
How about:
@wikipedia: Love Wikipedia? Help us find great Wiki Articles about Love for #ValentinesDay https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/ https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/ Include Public Domain Image for far greater engagement
Fb/G+ LGTM.

As discussed, we just published a new blog post to invite our community to find great wiki articles (or images) about love:
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/ https://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
I’m excited to try out this experiment with new types of thematic user-generated content, combining social media, the wikis and the blog.
This new campaign plan — and proposed social media ideas -- is outlined here:

Learn more on this wiki page: http://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/ http://blog.wikimedia.org/2015/02/06/wiki-articles-about-love/
Fabrice
